Manipulators – Aluminium Coils

Over the years, Mecnov has designed and fabricated several types of manipulators for different products and/or industries.

For this particular project, Mecnov designed and fabricated a manipulator to handle thin aluminium rolls by vacuum. For the sake of simplicity, pneumatic operation was selected for the X and Y axis, while proportional hydraulic was used for the Z axis and the tilt axis.

• Many safety systems protect both the operator and the manipulator.
• Handling capacity: 3,500 lbs.

Depending on the applications, these manipulators can be powered by servo or AC motors. Operation of these manipulators can be automated by using motion controllers or they can be manually operated with local or deported pendants.
