Immersion Tanks – Train Wheels Inspection

These heavy-duty ultrasonic immersion inspection tanks are built to last, and are designed for ultrasonic inspection of train wheels. They can be delivered with or without automatic loading/unloading and marking systems.

The tank is made of high-quality 304-L stainless steel sandblasted to obtain a superior smooth finish, free of burrs and welding marks. 

The wheel rotating system is servo-driven ensuring precise speed and position references for high productivity during inspection.

The immersion tank is equipped with a high-volume filtration system that filters water in close circuit to remove solid particles as small as 20 microns. As an option, the immersion tank can also be equipped with an electrical heating system of appropriate size to keep water temperature to an acceptable level for ultrasound inspection.

Axis movements and ultrasonic inspection are performed by OlympusNDT MotionView™ and TomoView™ softwares from a single PC.
